RISK ASSESSMENT POLICY

Crocodoodle Creative Pre-school believes that the health and safety of children and staff is of paramount importance. We make our setting a safe and healthy place for children, parents, staff and volunteers by assessing and minimising the hazards and risks to enable the children to thrive in a healthy and safe environment. Our risk assessments are carried out jointly by Hollie Hadfield and Maria Oldfield, Pre-school managers. Risk assessments are reviewed annually or earlier if appropriate.

We maintain lists of health and safety issues, which are checked daily before the session begins as well as those that are checked on a weekly basis.

The basis of this policy is risk assessment:

  • What is the risk?
  • Who might be harmed and how?
  • Likelihood of injury (Very likely, likely, unlikely very unlikely)?
  • Severity of injury (Major injuries, serious injuries, minor injuries)?
  • Action required to remove hazard?
  • Action by when?
  • Action required by whom?
  • Hazard risk rating (High, Medium, Low, Minimal)?
